Crystal Tears of the Fractured Moon
Bookmaker turned cheesemaker turned divine seer
Born to the learned bookmaker Sel Joresh of Garentor, and an unknown mother; Ella is an only child, and learned as much of her father’s trade as possible. His death marked a severe reduction in circumstance for Ella: lacking her father’s polished manner and practiced hand at the politics of Garentor, she lost the house and all her father’s belongings. Keeping her from abject poverty was her ability to learn other trades quickly. She rapidly acquired the cheesemaker’s art, and began peddling her wares in Garentor (albeit, the poor side), where she eked out an existence.
Life continued on in this manner until her childhood acquaintance Luthian, having been more familiar with her father and her bookmaking services, sought her out one day. Out of pity, or perhaps out of the knowledge of the discounted rate he could hire her at? A simple expedition into the hills outside of Garentor turned into a life-altering revelation, as Ella stumbled upon a long-forgotten conduit to a lost Goddess, wherein she was granted much power and the potential of much wisdom.
Since that day 2 years ago, she has been left with a nagging need to travel the world and find other such conduits, the unknown Goddess for some reason demanding of Ella much, leaving her filled with more questions than can be vocalized or answered. Who is this Goddess? Why does she demand Ella’s faith and service? Torn between the need to serve the divinity that commands her, and her own doubts and fears about the path she finds herself on, she continues forward to an unknown fate.
